Hey, You!

It’s me, Matteo Scalera, AKA “the Dumb Shark.”

I was born in Parma (Italy) in 1982. You know the Parmesan cheese? That’s where it comes from! And so do I!

I’m a Parmesan man, basically.

While my career as a buffoon started in my very early days, my career as a comic book artist began in 2008 with HYPERKINETIC, a miniseries written by Howard Shum and published by Image Comics.

Since then, I’ve been doing a lot of stuff! I’ve worked as the interior artist on Marvel’s SECRET AVENGERS, INDESTRUCTIBLE HULK, DEADPOOL, BATMAN (DC Comics), VALEN THE OUTCAST (Boom! Studios) and DEAD BODY ROAD (Skybound).

In 2013, writer Rick Remender and I co-created BLACK SCIENCE, a super cool sci-fi series published by Image Comics. More recently, I was the artist for Mark Millar’s SPACE BANDITS, KING OF SPIES, THE AMBASSADORS (Netflix/Image Comics), BATMAN WHITE KNIGHT PRESENTS: HARLEY QUINN, and BATMAN ONE BAD DAY: MR. FREEZE (DC Comics).

I’m currently working on a personal project, a miniseries that I’m both writing (badly) and drawing (decently).
